The AT-271B/PRC is constructed of seven lightweight, brass tubes. A stainless steel cable threaded through the sections holds them together when the antenna is folded for storage. With the assistance of a tension spring, the same cable holds all the sections together when the antenna is erected. This type of construction contributes to the antenna's light weight, compactability and portability. This light weight antenna can be used in either the transmit or receive mode. The antenna is designed for use under the severe environmental conditions encountered in a shipboard environment. The two independent radiating elements are housed in a single fibreglass radome with an integral fibreglass mounting base. Brochure The two antenna channels are high power dipoles. The UHF dipole is capable of handling power levels of up to 1 kW average. The WNW dipole is capable of handling power levels up to 300 W average. The isolation between the two channels is greater than 25 dB. Each channel exhibits a nominal input impedance of 50 ohms and a VSWR of 3.0:1 maximum and 2.5:1 average over the entire frequency range of 225 MHz to 400 MHz. The antenna has been designed to meet the vibration requirements of MIL-STD-167, TYPE I and II, shock requirements of MIL-S-901, and Environmental requirements of MIL-E-16400H

The VBBA2-30-18 operates in the 5 MHz to 30 MHz range with a maximum VSWR of 2.25:1. The VBBA2-30-18 was designed to match the environmental and physical characteristics of Valcom's highly successful antenna model VBBA2-30 . The VBBA2-30-18 is designed to match the antenna's full operating frequency band to a 50 ohm line without the need for external tuning devices or by having a purely resistive element in or at the base of the antenna. This translates to a higher gain and lower VSWR across the band. The VECM-2200 is ideally suited for cutting edge wide spectrum electronic countermeasure systems. As well, it can be used for standard HF and VHF communications, replacing a multiple antenna configuration. The VECM-2200 antenna boasts a power handing capability of up to 100 Watts and a nominal 3.5:1 VSWR across the entire operating band of 20MHz to 200MHz. This light weight antenna has an all aluminum outer structure which can be mounted around an existing mast ranging from 4 inches to 12 inches in diameter. The four radiating elements are fed in-phase from a single input and provide omni-directional radiation in the azimuth plane. The antenna system consists of two 18 foot spun aluminum antennas, an impedance matching network and an interconnecting wire-rope feed assembly. The system is intended for use on either the CG or DDG class naval vessels: CG class vessel - the impedance matching network is CU-2241C/SRC and antenna is an AS-3770B/U DDG class vessel - the matching network is CU-2416A/SRC with antenna AS-3773B/U The antennas used in the system are self supporting tapered aluminum tubes with a fibreglass insulator and mounting base. The impedance matching network contains a variable inductor/capacitor to enable optimal VSWR characteristics over the entire 10-30 MHz band. A VSWR of 3:1 or less on 50 Ohms can be achieved over the entire frequency band. The system has been qualified to MIL-S-901C for shock, MIL-STD-167 for Type 1 vibration, and all the service conditions of MIL-E-16400.

Brochure The antenna is made up of 8 rigid aluminum sections which stack together to form the mast and feed-line to the elements. The elements of the antenna consist of four wires sloped towards the ground with insulated ends extending out to serve as guy lines for the mast. Due to the lightweight, sectional design, assembly of this antenna is fast and easy; about 10 minutes for two people. When not in use, the antenna can be packed and stored in a compact canvas carry bag. An expansion kit is available for use in areas of poor radiation. The kit provides 7 additional mast sections and additional guy ropes. It comes in a compact canvas carry bag as well.
