Detailed Description

The Valcom modem VMA-16 is a 16-foot, HF tactical whip antenna. The VMA-16 operates in the 2 to 27 MHz frequency range. The VMA-16 is designed to withstand the harsh conditions characteristic to shipboard environments.

It is constructed in three sections which thread together to form the whole whip. Each section is constructed of longitudinally and circumferentially wound fibreglass filaments held together with a resin substrate.
